A Comparative Study on the Economic·Social characteristics of Social Economy Organization -Focusing on Goals, Performance, Trade off-

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose of this study understands difference among social enterprise, social cooperative, community business, and self-help company by comparing economic·social goals, performance, and trade off. They are generally homogenous but some difference was found. Key findings are like followings.
Firstly, social enterprise shows higher level of economic·social performance and invests more for social purpose than community business. Social enterprise earns 594,551 thousand won in the public market, employs the vulnerable 21.5 more, provides social service for 2133.2, and invests 10,570 thousand won for community more than community business. Secondly, social enterprise shows higher level of economic·social performance and invests more for social purpose than self-help company. Social enterprise earns 634,985 thousand won in the private market, 512,128 thousand won in the public market, employs the vulnerable 20 more, the general worker 12.6, provides social service for 1985.3, invests 11,638 thousand won for community more than self-help company. Community business and self-help company show no higher level than social enterprise. Thirdly, trade off was found in social enterprise and self-help company which are all related to operating profit. Social cooperative and community business show no trade off. The former shows positive relationship but the latter has less significance.
It is expected that this result can be used for the development of social economy organization and ecosystem. Moreover, some considerations are suggested.
